Science Policy Communication Workshop

Are you a scientist interested in learning to communicate your work to policymakers and the public? Or perhaps you’re a scientist wanting to simply learn more about the intersection of science and government. Or maybe you’re not a STEM person at all, but want to get involved in science policy ahead of the November midterms. 
In any case, we invite you to the second annual Science Policy Communication Workshop, lead by the Yale STEM Hill Day team. We’re a group of graduate students from across three Yale schools with expertise in science, policy, and science policy, with the goal of making all of the above more accessible. We’ll discuss what makes for effective science communication, practice those skills with some fun activities, show you how federal policy really gets made, and present a variety of opportunities to get involved in policy-making!
The workshop will be held on October 8, 2026 at 5:30 pm in Horchow Hall GM Room (55 Hillhouse Ave., Room 103). The event is open to anyone Yale-affiliated – whether your an undergraduate starting your first research experience or a tenured professor, we want to meet you!
